Check out the American Chemical Society Island (especially their wall of freebies seen in the picture below!) for some great chemistry resources.

A FEW Points of Interest on the Island:

Freebie Wall - As seen in the picture, you can pick up a lab coat and goggles! More usefully, there's a 3D periodic table that you can grab as well as a bucky beachball
Nitrogen Pollution Station - There's an excellent site on the island where you can see how runoff from farms can enter the watershed and affect the environment. You can see how it affects dissolved oxygen, and leads to dead zones. Its a great exhibit with voice over narration and some interesting slide shows. Note: the dead zone ppt is actually UNDER the water in the ocean, so make sure that you don't miss it.
Chemical Landmarks Interactive Museum - This is a fascinating museum with some very interesting exhibits. I like it because it seems like not many of the museums in SL are linear which makes it hard to navigate and plan a trip to (this has been my experience thus far at least). This museum is very easy to navigate however (it's just a big circle) and not overwhelming in terms of the amount of explanation that each exhibits requires. Everything is interactive and there's even a few freebies to grab along the way.

I'm considering planning a "virtual fieldtrip" for interested students. I think it could be a lot of fun.Enjoy!
